HONORING PAYTON
Our journey is deeply rooted in honoring the legacy of our beloved friend, Payton Canku, a talented screenwriter whose dream was to see more Native lives represented on screen. Payton passed just months shy of graduating with her master’s in screenplay writing. She inspired us to create Deer Woman Productions, driven by our shared commitment to fulfill her aspirations and leave a lasting legacy in her honor.
